Wink's ET Profile
Jeni Gardner, aka Wink, is the owner, founder and Implementor of
Eternity's Trials. She received the code for the
mud in 1994 as a Valentine's Day gift. She had played on other muds before
she started Eternity's Trials and was an Immortal on Endless Nameless. She
was motivated to start Eternity's Trials not only because she loves muds so
much, but also because she loves people a lot: she wanted to provide a place
where people could take a break from their woes or daily routine.
Wink taught herself how to program just by studying the mud code that she
was given. Over the years, she has directed the development of the
mud in general, has added a lot of interesting elements to the game
via the code, and has created two of the most popular areas on
the mud: Dreamscape and Wink's House.
She has also held many ET mud
gatherings at her home during Halloween, for which a costume party was
often held. The gatherings were exciting
for many ET players, coming from various parts of the world, got to meet
each other for the first time. Some of the people who have come to the
various get-togethers include Kathy/Kayal and her husband Neil/Rees from Australia,
Xap from Seattle, close-friends Costa/Ziggy and Waleed/Mirakles from Texas,
Wink's long-time friend FreeSpirit from Ohio, brothers TwoLegUp and OrcForLife
from Mississipi, Isollae, PinkElephant from Indiana, and Calypso, Glimi/Kevin
and Dimi/Dimitrios from Michigan. Wink and the players visited a
Mississippi ship-casino during one of the gatherings, where then Co-Imp Freak won
a few hundred dollars playing the slots. During other get-togethers,
Wink and fellow ETers hung-out in downtown New Orleans. She has lived in
Louisiana since around 1999 and she is happily married
to Mitch Gardner. On August 19 of 2002, she gave birth to
her first child, Zachary William Gardner, who will one day
hopefully keep the mud alive for future generations. The mud is
like Wink's other child, now approaching adolescence, a creation
that she will love and nurture for all eternity and through
every trial. Dimi/Dec/2003
