Some of those that lived through all our dark days, still wander the lands.
Zoracc has been part of World for almost as long as I can remember. It was
a little startling to us when we realized just what we had welcomed into our
midst. He used to eat the Tree of Life. We had many a friendly argument
trying to cure him of this habit. I'm sure eventually, he used to eat it
just to tease me. But he maintained a balance and never actually harmed the
Tree. I sometimes think that he embraced us all more than we did him.
Whilst he has come and gone from the lands, he has always returned to World.
It does us good to have one who loves us, come back and view and assess the
changes. Sometimes we are too close to see the faults ourselves. I
remember that he rose to Silver in the Clan very early on, but his story is
so strange and long, that I will let him tell it for himself.
The other person that you should try to speak to, Child, is Glimi. I have
no way of knowing whether he still harbours any goodwill towards us. His
final leaving was not amicable. He should be remembered fondly however,
since he served World well while generations of World members came and went.
He also was a powerful Silver, and was eventually prevailed upon to take the
Leader's mantle. He survived each cataclysm that hit the lands, and came
back to us. I think he lived through the dark days when we were the targets
of the Powerful Gatulot rampages. He knew my weaknesses. Whilst I had
mastered all the magics and power myself, I was not good at teaching the
clan these things.

It was Glimi, who captured my visions and managed to teach the clan the new
spells. It was Glimi, who brought us Windrunner, Tsunami and Wildfire. He
was mortal, so its little wonder that there were some fallibilities in those
spells. Perhaps the Gods were jealous or feared him, because he was never
allowed to finish our vision. I wonder sometimes whether he got angry at
the continual complaints that filtered through the clan in later days. We
became a Clan of complainers, dissatisfied with what we had, jealous of what
others had, and in many ways his gift to us was overlooked.
He was also occasionally impulsive. It was a common failing in many of our
leaders really. If they were passionate enough about World to take on the
burden of leadership, it was hardly surprising that occasionally they
overreacted at insults to the clan, or injury to one of our own. The
intentions were always honourable though, even if sometimes the balance was
forgotten.

It was his impulsiveness that caused our final parting to be so sad. He had
discovered old gods that he felt drawn to follow. I knew of his love of
creating, so I watched with interest his skill in creating a wondrous
retreat. His knowledge of these old gods surprised me, but I did not
realize that his allegiances had also changed. Then one day he announced to
the clan that he was leaving. It was his timing that made the result
inevitable.
Many people across the lands had failed to understand that joining a Clan
was a two-way commitment that brought responsibilities as well as benefits.
An edict had gone out, a ruling that none could leave their clans without
the permission of their Clan God. My notes to the Clan reminded them of
this edict; my notes to Glimi were more personal and shall remain between
us. I think he only saw the edicts. I still remember the pain of standing
there watching, as he silently and efficiently, killed himself. After all
our time together, after all that he had given World, he killed himself
rather than risk having to remain with us. Those old gods that he now
followed smiled on his sacrifice however, and they re-incarnated him into
their new Clan. He became a leader and founder of New Sylvan. We had a War
with them soon after that.
