"Come child" she said, then paused and looked quizzically at the child,
adding "What is your name little one?".
The child had been dreading this question. Whenever it was asked she felt
very alone and usually laughed off the question and avoided answering. With
the Lady Kayal however, she did not hesitate. Quietly the child said "I
have no name my Lady. I have no memories of being anywhere but here and
no-one here knows my name".
The Lady smiled and said, "You have a name, child, and before you leave
here, we will find it for you. That is..if you choose to stay?".
The child had a thousand question but she asked none of them. She knew she
would stay. In her heart she had no doubts that this was the path that she
was meant to follow. With a happy smile she simply said "Yes, my Lady. I
choose to stay."
The Lady Kayal nodded and said "Then come child, if you are to be Keeper, I
have much to tell you and on our journey, it will be made clear who you are."

The soft voice of the Lady Kayal had magic and life in it when she started
to speak of the past. And the magic was in her words as she wove the dream
into reality. The present faded until the child was lost in the past, with
the Lady.
It was a young and dangerous World that they entered. A world with few
Clans to protect the young traveler. There was Darkness and Rose locked in
their eternal struggle, there was Gatulot, there were the fun-loving but
amoral Crimson Knights and the Adventurers from EAFD and there was World.
But the Clans were small and exclusive and full of larger than life heroes
that struck fear into the heart of the young and weak. Names like Vestrivan
and Chefcombo were bandied about at the fountain and it was a place to slip
past quickly and quietly to avoid trouble.
The Gods knew that the young needed protection, so an edict went out over
the land...Thou shalt find a home..Thou shalt join a clan. Kayal knew even
then that she was destined for World. Ironically, it had been a malicious
act by an evil mage that had first shown her the beauty of World. During a
fight she had been teleported, but the evil intent behind the act was
thwarted.

Kayal had found herself in a beautiful marble entrance. Awed by
the beauty and splendor she had wandered the City of Hearts her footsteps
echoing through the empty hallways. With a sense of loss she had eventually
been forced to leave, but she had known even then, that she belonged in
World. Kayal petitioned the Immortal Freak, seeking to join the World Clan,
and when she was accepted, she knew she had finally found a home.
World was like a family and the gift it offered to its children, was the
support of each other. There were no clan leaders at first and Freak
himself taught his children to follow the true path. He passed on the gift
of knowledge to the clan and taught World Shapers to live in harmony with
the elements. He drew on the powers of the World and the hidden universe and
allowed the Shapers to use their natural talents and abilities. Even those
not usually learned in magic were rewarded for their efforts and were
granted the powers of camouflage, awareness, the ability to prepare food so
that poisonous foods became edible, the ability to heal pets and the
greatest power granted was the power to call all of World to your side.
This was not a power to be used lightly since even Freak would answer the call.
